Eco-Friendly Product

Eco-friendly lifestyle is a way for us to live our lives by paying more attention to and protecting the surrounding environment. This eco-friendly lifestyle is also a lifestyle for someone who prioritizes cleanliness and sustainability in the surrounding environment, starting with a small environment to a large environment, namely the universe on this earth. According to (Holzer, 2018), Eco-friendly literally means earth-friendly or not harmful to the environment. Therefore, with this lifestyle we must defend it and share it with others, so that all of God's creatures can better understand and apply environmentally friendly concepts in our daily lives.

How To Prevent Flooding

Flood is the inundation of a place caused by the overflowing of a lot of water which can exceed the capacity of water disposal in the area or region. Floods are also a seasonal threat when a lot of water overflows from the existing waterways, which can inundate the area (Rahayu, 2009). This is also caused by human activities such as littering, without realizing that it is harmful to the surrounding environment and can have a negative impact on this earth. This flood is a natural disaster that can pollute the environment from living things, to prevent all of this there are several ways we can do it, but this can be done if there is awareness from each of us to the nature that God has entrusted to us, to be protected.

What precautions can be taken to prevent flooding?

  1. Starting from small things, namely not littering, but throwing garbage in its place.
  2. If someone is littering, they should be given sanctions so as not to pollute the surrounding environment more.
  3. Do not cut trees carelessly, which can reduce the tree population in our environment. By not cutting trees carelessly we can also limit the clearing of open land in certain functions (Sebastian, 2018)
  4. As for planting plants or other plants in the environment around our homes.
  5. Also we can prevent flooding by creating biopores in our home environment. Biopores are holes that are made to absorb water and also treat waste, with these biopores we can reduce the bad effects that can cause flooding.
Here is an additional explanatory video about how we can prevent flooding, especially in the infrastructure sector of a building in the city center:

Then if there is a flood, what actions can we take to save ourselves?

  1. Evacuate to a high place from a flood-affected area.
  2. Evacuate to the nearest flood posts which are safe.
  3. Climb a tall tree, which at least can save itself from the flooded surface.
  4. If you want to go to a place that has to pass through a flooded area, avoid an area that has been hit by a high enough flood that can endanger us.
  5. We also have to be able to save items that can still be taken for evacuation purposes when a flood occurs.
  6. And we must also be able to pay attention to the environment around us and in our homes, such as being alert to electric shocks in the house, (SUADNYANA, 2014)

The Economic Value for My Product

Creative Economy is a concept in the field of economy in the new economic era by prioritizing the creativity of people and promoting human resources who have ideas and knowledge to be used as the main factor in a production. Creative economy fulfills several fields in it such as architecture, crafts, art, photography, and etc.

Eco-friendly collage product

Materials and tools that used:

  1. Plastic leaf
  2. Used leaves
  3. Old paper
  4. Used cotton
  5. HVS paper
  6. Fox glue
  7. Tissue

The value of the creative economy in environmentally friendly collage products, which is related to the understanding of the creative economy of experts:

This product is a product of the creative economy because this product is made on the basis of its own creativity which is developed with the knowledge of used waste that can still be used. According to the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, the creative economy is a value that is created based on the ideas and creativity of human resources themselves (creative people) and is also based on the use of knowledge that includes existing cultural and technological heritage. Also according to the Department of Culture, Media, and Sports in the UK, the creative economy is an industry that comes from the creativity, abilities, and talents of individuals who have the potential to create wealth and jobs through the use of intellectual property. Through this, this product is the result of creativity which is further developed with natural science, namely used wastes, which can be reused to become an environmentally friendly work. This creative economy product is also very influential for the environment on this earth, the more works that use used waste, the less waste is thrown in vain on this earth, (Suparno & Tamtomo, 2013).

3 Creative economy challenges that exist in Indonesia, and their solutions:

  1. In terms of human resources (human resources) there a limited quantity and quality of creative actors in Indonesia in various fields of expertise as well as the ability to run and manage a business. The solution that can be taken is by inviting people, starting to invite those closest to us to be able to work using their own creativity in creating an environmentally friendly environment. Whatever field of interest, as long as it starts with its own creativity, then we only need to add economic value to it so that it can become a work of its own creation that is environmentally friendly and meets the criteria for creative economy products.

  2. From the capital side, there is a lack of the number of financing institutions that finance creative actors as capital and other financing alternatives for creative induction. The solution that we can take is to use natural resources or to use used waste which of course can still be used to create a work. That way there is no need for a lot of capital to be spent, and using used wastes will be more friendly to the environment and can be more useful even though it is only made from used waste.

  3. As for the marketing side, where there is a lack of synergy in the direction of policies and programs of the government and local governments. The solution to this problem is to use the internet that is already available, given that the large population of people who use the internet and social media (According to (Andi,2020), said that there are around 3,800 billion people who use social media) it can be an advantage for us to market products that have been made. For Indonesian residents who live in remote areas, the marketing used is to provide free products at the initial sale, supported by the selection of a strategic and attractive place. By also providing a discount at the beginning of the sale it can inspire people to make their own with hard waste, but it is based on their creativity and also requires a fairly high economic value.

Are the products made to help the welfare of the people in Indonesia, and what is the impact on Indonesian society?

Yes, because this product can provide awareness for the Indonesian people to better protect and preserve our environment. This product can also provide an example for Indonesian people to recycle used waste that can still be used as an eco-friendly product, through that we can slowly change our country, Indonesia to be cleaner and more environmentally friendly. friendly and healthy.

The market segmentation value of this product:

  • Based on geography, I will sell this product first in the city of Manado, because the processing and processing facilities for this product are made in Manado. Then, the place where I will sell my products for the first time is in the Mall as a promotion place, but more precisely, I will sell in small cities in North Sulawesi, such as Tomohon and Tondano. Because in my opinion, a place like that is very effective for this product to sell because this product can blend with nature and if in the cities of Tomohon and Tondano it can be easier to produce because the ingredients used are also all from nature. I also want this product to start from small cities in order to make small communities aware of how to protect and preserve their environment and not to waste this already beautiful nature dirty because of the large amount of waste thrown away in vain. According to (Tombeg, 2014), saying that there is a buildup of garbage in a sub-district in Tomohon, therefore this product can awaken consumers to be able to reduce waste, especially used waste that can still be used for reuse.
  •  Based on demographics, my product will be sold to all people, even at all ages. But if in particular, I will sell my products to children, also to adolescents and youth. Why? Because in my opinion, starting small can have a bigger impact, by teaching children, adolescents and young people first they can have more enthusiasm for loving their homeland, with the feeling they have they can create more of these environmentally friendly products. and can inspire other parents.
  • Based on psychography, Indonesian people often do not understand that there are many used wastes that can still be used and reused into work or product that is better, and more environmentally friendly. Through that too, this product can create an environmentally friendly lifestyle in people, having an environmentally friendly lifestyle must be supported by understanding and awareness, therefore by giving them that understanding and awareness through this product made. If we also have a lifestyle like that we can further increase our sense of appreciation and love for the earth that God has entrusted to us to protect.

How do I promote my product?

I will start promoting my products in shopping centers in Manado city, like a bazaar or an exhibition of products as works of art to be shown. I will also list the actual places of sale during the bazaar and exhibition so that they can come and see or become tourist attractions. Because the place was chosen has blended with nature, and the products sold are also for the preservation of nature. And do not forget I will promote on my product social media account, I will also promote my products first to the people closest to me for them to spread to other communities.

Marketing strategy of my product:

According to my promotion strategy, I will create an exhibition and bazaar for my products. There, of course, I will give a discounted price in the first 3 days, as well as in the actual place, namely in the city of Tomohon, I will give a discounted price for every purchase of the first 3 days. I will also make banners for the products I sell so that people can see them more easily. I will also create a website to serve as a platform for online purchases, and for the opening day of the first place, I will also present the exhibition online so that people who do not come can see it online. And in the bazaar and exhibition, I will later collaborate with a product that sells grocery bags made of cloth and straws made of glass, where our products have the same goal of being able to give people awareness of the preservation and protection of the environment around them.

The Biblical Christian Worldview of Eco-Friendly Lifestyle

The world is always in God's hands

The universe is a beautiful creation of God, a universe that is also equipped with living things in it, namely we humans and other living things. God created this world only for His glory which He shows in His creation. However, the universe that God has created has been contaminated by humans, which is precisely God's belief in protecting, protecting, and preserving His creation. But because of selfishness and bad behavior from humans, such as littering, not utilizing waste that can still be used so that it is thrown away in vain, as well as selfish behavior, that is what often pollutes the environment around us.

God, as the creator of the universe, wants us to protect and care for His creation as in Genesis 1:28 (God blessed them, then God said to them: "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and conquer it, reign over the fish in the sea and the birds in the air and overall the animals that crawl on the earth) It is said that humans were created to fill the earth and rule over the animals on land and in the sea, not to exploit them in a wrong way. this is the best, and perfect for Him, as in Genesis 1:31 (So God saw all that He made, it was very good. There was evening and there was morning, it was the sixth day).

Therefore, we as the nation's children must now be able to understand and adopt an environmentally friendly lifestyle! With an environmentally friendly lifestyle, we can be more grateful for the universe that God has given us, also we can better understand what God wants us to do, namely to take care of His creation and have power over it. Colossians 3:23 says "Whatever you do, do with all your heart as for God and not for men". We must be able to carry out God's commandments with all our hearts, only for God and not for humans, or all worldly things.

One example of our real behavior in preserving this earth is the creative economy products that are made with the results of our creativity. Only by utilizing nature, as well as used things that can still be used, we can make work, that work can reflect how miraculous and perfect God is, He gives each of us the creativity to think about how we as humans can preserve the created earth. Him this. This product also has an understanding where everyone must have their creativity, with any talent in any field, which is certainly supported by their knowledge, of course, they can also create eco-friendly work that can reflect the omnipotence of God over this world.
